John Wright is a retired career journalist and graduate of Toronto's Ryerson College journalism program.
Born: Owen Sound, Ontario in Canada.
Formerly employed by several newspapers and magazines including the Hamilton Spectator, Brantford Expositor, Ontario Out of Doors where he has done news reporting, travel writing. Wright finished his newspaper career as an Outdoor Writer and reporter with a focus on environmental issues at the Owen Sound Sun Times.
Wright won several writing awards and is a member of the Outdoor Writers of Canada. When he retired in 1999, after almost 30 years of deadlines, he bought a sailboat and spent several winters sailing. Much of the writing of this book took place while sailing in the Bahamas.
Writing historical fiction has led Wright down many enjoyable roads of research and he has crossed paths with numerous people who have enhanced his fields of learning, knowledge and imagination. He is currently a member of the First Writers and the Historical Novel Society.
